Meetings begin at 7 p.m., on the second Tuesday of each month, at Murphys Irish Pub, 415 Main Street, downtown Murphys. Please arrive early for a no-host Irish meal and a pint of ale in the restaurant. Click here for pub menu. Our next club meeting is September 12.
Meetings will feature a program on either Irish or Scottish culture and history.

Cead mile failte!
Based in the scenic and historic California foothill town of Murphys, the Western Sierra Celtic Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Irish and Scottish culture, education and entertainment.
Membership is open to all -- regardless of family ancestry, owning a kilt or where you live.
Our club will host Irish- and Scottish-themed events, including: a Robert Burns Supper in January, Kirkin' of the Tartan church service in the fall, Celtic Christmas Candlelight Walk in December; plus, Irish-Scottish concerts, Scotch and Irish whisky tastings and monthly Celtic cultural educational programs.

September 9 Columbia State Park parade and festival
March with our Irish-Scottish club in the California Statehood Admission Day parade at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 9, along Columbia State Historic Park's main street. After the parade, we will greet festival visitors from our Celtic club's information tent until 5 p.m.
September 12 club meeting program
The ancient Irish and Scottish clan systems and their family "septs" will be explained by Clan Shaw representative, Sarah Shaw. Program at the end of our 7 p.m. meeting at Murphys Irish Pub, 415 Main Street, downtown Murphys.
October 7 Murphys Gold Rush Street Faire
Downtown Murphys' Main Street will be closed off for the Saturday, October 7 street festival. Our Celtic club tent will be there, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., where we will need your help to greet people and promote our club.
October 10 club meeting program
History of early Irish immigration to the United States, presented by local author Stephen Finlay Archer. Program at end of our 7 p.m. meeting at Murphys Irish Pub, 415 Main Street, downtown Murphys.
December 10 Celtic Christmas Candlelight Walk
The public is invited to march along the downtown Murphys streets, led by a bagpiper, on Sunday evening, December 10. Meet at 5 p.m. for caroling and hot beverages in Murphys Community Park on South Algiers Street. The eight-block "walk" will start at 6 p.m. and ends at Murphys Irish Pub. Dress warmly and bring a large candle with a styrofoam cup to shield the candle flame from the wind. Click here for the evening's walking route map.
